4.00 inc. VAT

This is a rock’n’roll and rockabilly, sometimes even rhythm’n’blues, oriented compilation of Noisy Cats original material along the road.

Noisy Cats: CATCH-22 vol.2 with a bonus track

Remixed for the occasion by Matt The Cat – digital mp3 download only!

Hearts Of Stone (Eddie Ray-Rudy Jackson)
original performer: The Jewels 1954

Popular song with several covers from Elvis Presley (live version 1955) and Connie Francis (1958) to John Fogerty (1973).

Unsatisfied (Bob Cat)
original performer: Noisy Cats 2022

Our original of the EP. Bob’s idea of Sun records’ rockabilly material. Play with word meanings.

Wild Mind (Buck Peddy-Mel Tillis)
original performer: John “T” Talley 1956

Crazy rockabilly with minimum overdubs. Having that said, crazy means great this time.

Born To Rock (T.D. Lawrence)
original performer: John Ashley 1958

Noisy brothers heard this first after having purchased an LP by the Swedish doo-wop/rock’n’roll act Boppers, around 1980. Much later this original came along. Notable guitar demonstration by Eddie Cochran influenced on our treatment.

BONUS TRACK: Peg O’ My Heart (Fred Fisher-Alfred Bryan) [slow version]

original performer: Irving Kaufman 1912 (included in the musical Ziegfeld Follies 1913)

This old song is not rock’n’roll but Gene Vincent happened to record it in 1956 with Cliff Gallup on lead guitar which makes it ok for us. The gallupian intro is played by Bob  whereas Matt is responsible for the rest of the guitar soloing here. The alto sax part is played by Bob with his first (read: cheap) saxophone. He transcribed the notes from Lester Young’s live version and arranged them for his level of playing. Not jazz, really, but entertaining, yes.

Background

This is a digital rockabilly / rock’n’roll release from the Finnish brothers Bob Cat and Matt The Cat. The group has been around since 1989 and still going strong. Bob Cat created the cover, using Stray Cats’ and Polecats’ first album covers as a tribute guideline.

Noisy Cats consists of Esa and Marko singing and playing everything you can (and cannot) hear on this set.  However, the origin of their inspiration dates back to the sound of the 1950’s.

So far Bob and Matt, aka Esa Wirta and Marko Virta, have recorded mostly original material with some significant exceptions to the rule. Also, you can hear them sing and play for example on Spotify and other streaming services.

Since this is a digital download only, there is no postage extra cost. When you have paid for the order, you will get a confirmation and the receipt straight away on screen.
