4.00 inc. VAT

This is a rock’n’roll and rockabilly, sometimes even rhythm’n’blues, oriented compilation of Noisy Cats original material along the road.

Noisy Cats: CATCH-22 vol.3 with a bonus track

Remixed for the occasion by Matt The Cat – digital mp3 download only!

Rockabilly Gal (Jack Wolf-Bob Colby)
original performer: Hayden Thompson 1957

Nice slow rockabilly in minor chord. The arrangement for the Noisy Cats version was put together from two different perfomers. It’s for you to find out whom.

Long Train (Matt The Cat)
original performer: Noisy Cats 2022

Our original of the EP. Matt’s “train song” if you will. Targeted to fit in the 1950’s Sun records style.

Honky Tonk Man (Johnny Horton-Tillman Franks-Howard Hausey)
original performer: Johnny Horton 1956

One of Matt’s favorites. A nice cut this one, too. Has lotsa covers.

Make Up Your Mind, Baby (J.Hodges)
original performer: Bob Luman 1957

Bob Cat’s recent faves. The nasty and fast guitar solo by James Burton was too much for him to learn, bar the intro and outro parts. Luman recorded this a couple of times; Noisy Cats’ version leans on the first one, most of the time.

BONUS TRACK: Rockin’ And A Rollin’ (Dick Bills)

original performer: Dick Bills 1961

Hardly ever before covered a song, Glen Campbell’s uncle doing his interpretation of rock’n’roll. While Glen playing his heart out with his guitar. Noisy Cats tried to reproduce some of it in early 2022. The first solo by Bob is copied from Glen himself, but the outcome didn’t please him at the time. Matt plays the second solo, written all by himself.

Background

This is a digital rockabilly / rock’n’roll release from the Finnish brothers Bob Cat and Matt The Cat. The group has been around since 1989 and still going strong. Bob Cat created the cover, using Stray Cats’ and Polecats’ first album covers as a tribute guideline.

Noisy Cats consists of Esa and Marko singing and playing everything you can (and cannot) hear on this set.  However, the origin of their inspiration dates back to the sound of the 1950’s.

So far Bob and Matt, aka Esa Wirta and Marko Virta, have recorded mostly original material with some significant exceptions to the rule. Also, you can hear them sing and play for example on Spotify and other streaming services.
